Toht

The Adventures of Indiana Jones Action Figure

About This Vintage Toy

Produced by Kenner in 1982, there were 5 total 3.75″ action figures released in series 1. Toht, whose name was never mentioned in the movie, was sent by the Third Reich to acquire the headpiece to the Staff of Ra. Along with capturing Marion and assisting Belloq in pursuit of the mysteries of the Ark, his melting face upon opening the Ark mentally scarred many young audiences. The action figure featured 7 points of articulation including the neck, shoulders, hips, and both knees. Toht featured a removable vinyl trenchcoat, a pistol to keep heroes at bay, and an excellent burned medallion scar on his right hand to show his dedication to his mission! Collectors may find bent pistols, sliced vinyl trenchcoats, blemishes, paint removal, and broken thumbs on this figure.

The action figure came with a vinyl trenchcoat and plastic pistol. The trenchcoat was a molded fit on Toht’s shoulders and the pistol fit into Toht’s hand. The value of the accessories alone is often worth more than the figure itself, depending on the mint condition of the action figure.

The original card back featured a 4 back “collect them all” Advertisement on the back of the card and also displayed additional optional playsets available to purchase. Also, the original series one release displayed a free “mail away” action figure offer which was available with several Kenner proof of purchase. This particular offer for a series one was for a free mail-away version of the Belloq action figure in ceremonial robe. NOTE: Collectors that have the original card back offer increased value to the collectible. (MWC = Mint with card) If the card back still has a bubble intact, that also increases the value. If the action figure is factory sealed on the original card, (MOC= Mint on card) then collectors can obtain the most value from that particular item.
