Streets of Cairo

The Adventures of Indiana Jones Action Playset

About This Vintage Toy

The 1983 Adventures of Indiana Jones Streets of Cairo Adventure Playset was part of a line of action figure toys designed by Kenner Products to complement the Raiders of the Lost Ark film released in 1981. The Streets of Cairo adventure set was the only Playset released with the 1983 second wave of figures. This set featured an exclusive (never available on card) Monkey Man figure, a non-articulated, crouching Marion figure, and a not articulated monkey. This figure was molded in a different pose than the one that came with the carded Marion Ravenwood figure. The monkey’s left arm was raised to replicate the iconic scene from the film where the monkey revealed Marian’s hidden location inside a street basket.

Packaging Front

The original packaging was a rectangular box that featured live-action marketing images of the Indiana Jones Streets of Cairo Adventure Set on display. NOTE: Collectors with the original card back offer increased value to the collectible. (MWC = Mint with card) If the card back still has a bubble intact, that also increases the value. If the action figure is factory sealed on the original card (MOC= Mint on card), collectors can obtain the most value from that particular item.
